Cabbage Collars 20 collars Unlike other cabbage collars, these are made from copper impregnated material which helps to repel slugs and to deter cabbage root fly. They will prevent weeds germinating around the plant stems and conserve moisture around their roots. |
Kale : Scarlet 1 packet Highly decorative, dark green, red veined leaves which show more colour as colder weather approaches. Can be eaten as a 'salad leaf'. Mature plants show excellent winter hardiness, supplying fresh winter greens when they can often be scarce. Long season of harvest. Prefers a moist, rich, well-drained soil. Walking Stick Cabbage 1 packet (Jersey Cabbage) This famous Channel Islands heirloom kale makes a tall, straight stem, 2m (6ft) tall topped with a rosette of edible leaves. The stems when mature in the autumn can be cut, carved and varnished to make attractive walking sticks. Plants left in a second year may run to seed or increase in height to over 3m (9½ft). |
