A novelty purple-red sprout, adding a touch of colour to your plate. Matures over a long period, and has a milder, nuttier flavour than standard green types. The colour develops great intensity after a hard frost, and is retained when the sprouts are cooked, steamed or microwaved.

T&M have been assessing extensive trials of early maturing varieties and believe that Nelson is the best 'Peer Gynt' replacement. Nelson produces smaller, more even sized buttons of a darker green colour and a sweeter taste. Plants have good vigour, and a strong root system so they remain upright for easy picking.
